Beginning as a small shop in 1965 shortly after the iconic Old Pasar Geylang Serai was built in 1964. The building was then declared opened by the late founder of Singapore Prime Minister, Mr Lee Kuan Yew. Pasar Geylang Serai Market will then become the would go place for people of all races in Singapore especially during the Hari Raya Puasa.

It began as a family business tailoring clothes for sale at various pasar malam. It mainly catered to British Military personnel stationed in Singapore after WW2. Initially, it was located at an old shop house a stone throw away at Onan Road. Because of its proximity to Geylang Serai Market. Enterprising family members decide to permanently locate to the old market.

Today Sunshine Apparels had its own label “Seri Suria” meaning “Brilliance Sunshine” . This marks a different era from the previous owners of the humble stall in the market.

Now the business caters to fashionable and chic Muslimah Dresses and suits like Baju Kurung, Kebaya, and Baju Raya that are suitable for formal and informal events and occasions. It sells practical babies accessories from new born to toddlers. Dresses and suits for boys and girls were also sold.
